Catalogue info: The house was built in 1903 for Captain Alexander Isaac Young (1857-1925) and his wife Henrietta Letitia. The house was owned by the Young family until 1985. This parlour ceiling has a stencilled geometric border with a vase of flowers at each of the four corners and a stylized rose with imitation plaster border in the centre. The mantel is marbelized in pale grey paint and the mantelpiece is grained. The mock fireboard is framed with a blue drape framing a seascape.
